Trend Micro Forecasts 2012 Security Threats PDF Print E-mail

In its just published "Threat Predictions for 2012 Report," Trend Micro discusses 4 important spheres: security breaches and data leaks, mobile landscape, major IT trends, and threat landscape.


Raimund Genes, Chief Technology Officer at Trend Micro states that the above forecasts imply that Web-surfers during 2012 will require for constantly choosing an increasingly data-centric mode to have effective safety as well as privacy while adopting virtualization, consumerization as also the cloud. Nationmultimedia.com reported this on December 20, 2011.

Subsequently, regarding the 2012 threat landscape, although networks-of-bots are expected to get diminutive in size, their numbers will increase, causing great hurdles for law enforcement to effectively shut them down. Besides, botnets, which are a conventional cyber-crime means, are expected to evolve as the security community embraces dynamic operations. And, though enormous-sized botnets will disappear, there will be more of smaller ones, which will be increasingly manageable too. These smaller botnets are likely to minimize dangers for cyber-criminals as the latter will get little impacted with the takedown of any one, Trend Micro explains.
