According to its July 2011 Intelligence Report that just got released, Symantec highlights that the worldwide percentage of junk e-mails with respect to total e-mail traffic rose 77.8% representing a rise of 4.9%, thus stated MarketWatch dated July 26, 2011.
Furthermore an analysis of the geographic trend of worldwide spam during July 2011 reveals that Saudi Arabia still generated the maximum spam at the rate of 85.6%, followed with Russia on No.2 with 83.4%. China stood on No.3 at 82.4% of total spam globally followed with Hungary in the fourth place and Vietnam in the fifth place reflecting a spam rate of 81.9% and 81.6% respectively.
Meanwhile, there are other countries in the race too. Thus, USA and Canada separately accounted for 78.0% and 77.7% of the total spam generated. Contrarily, the rate in United Kingdom was 78.2%. Elsewhere, in The Netherlands the spam rate was 78.8%, in Germany -77.9%, Denmark -77.6% and Australia -75.8%. In Hong Kong, 76.8% of all electronic mails were detected as junk, while it was 75.7% in Singapore as against 74.7% in Japan. In South Africa, the rate of spam to total e-mail was 76.9% while in Brazil it was 78.7%.
