EPD Cautions About Fake FedEx Deliveries, Checks PDF Print E-mail

EPD i.e. Eureka Police Department has issued a warning to the public that one fresh scam has again hit the Internet. Times-Standard published this on May 25, 2011.


Actually an inhabitant of Eureka got a delivery e-mail overnight apparently from FedEx notifying her that a check valuing $1,950 had been issued to her. The e-mail looked real as the reply id indicating FedEx along with the check was associated with genuine business firms situated in the East Coast.

Besides the name, which was displayed on the FedEx reply ID and the name along with the addresses of the firm which the check showed were different. The inhabitant didn't think the firm would send her a check. So, believing it was phony, she presented the check to the EPD.
