Cyber-criminals Luring Job-Hunters Via Reputed Company Names PDF Print E-mail

Fraudsters, it's said, are targeting job-hunters by exploiting big corporate names such as Samsung, Videocon and Maruti Suzuki towards luring unwitting applicants from India such that they may fall for their ploys. Indianexpress.com reported this on January 31, 2011.


Actually, while distributing letters/e-mails to job-hunters, the criminals pretend to be HR heads as well as occasionally big organizations' CEOs telling the recipients that they need to make payments that reportedly count to several thousand rupees.

And because such scam instances are suddenly increasing, corporate houses have issued notices for the general public alerting of the frauds.

In another notice, Maruti Suzuki highlighted that one bogus offer was circulating that while misrepresenting the company told probable candidates that they needed to pay Rupees 10,000 to get a job which valued a huge Rupees 2 lakh salary per month.

Specialists on Internet security remark that sadly, the job-scammers aren't merely targeting Indians rather it's a worldwide problem. For example, the Embassy of Philippines in London lately cautioned of one fresh fake recruitment scam that offered employment over the Internet.

Additionally, the specialists remark that job-hunters can save themselves from these scams by adopting several precautions. First, they mustn't reply to e-mails, which don't give any detail of the business alternatively the job functions that are carried out at the company. In fact, they must start by carrying out extra research and finding out more about the job they're hunting along with the organization that is offering the work.
