Croydon Inhabitants Cautioned about Fake ‘Olympics’ E-mails PDF Print E-mail

South London, England located Croydon's Department of Trading Standards has issued an alert to residents for remaining vigilant of e-mails that pose as messages from the London 2012 Olympic Games organizing committee. Thisislocallondon.co.uk reported this on August 1, 2011.


Actually an agency, Trading Standards provides consultation and advisory services to enterprises operating from Croydon.

Meanwhile, an attachment inside the fake electronic mail, which initially looks like a correspondence, is really scanned, after the Game's organizing authority supposedly wrote it. The correspondence tells its reader that based on a random selection he has been chosen to get an enormous cash award. Thereafter he's directed that he should e-mail his private information to someone who'll be managing his so-called prize.
