CRA Warns Canadian Taxpayers about Phishing E-Mails PDF Print E-mail

A phishing e-mail, lately circulating in Canada, informs citizens paying taxes that based on some clues, they've been found to evade taxes along with the organization to which they're associated. Thus a complaint has been registered against them via the utilization of the Informant Leads Program. MarketWire published this in news on June 14, 2011.


The scam electronic mail isn't from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the Informant Leads Program website of the Agency alerts taxpayers of the said scam.

States CRA, people in Canada must particularly be wary of phishing frauds soliciting personal information like bank account, credit card, passport, and social insurance numbers. A few of such scams directly tell victims to enter personal details, while others divert them onto a copycat site of the CRA that instructs the user for confirming his identity via feeding in personal information.
