Julius Sobrier, a researcher with security vendor Zscaler, informed that security experts have observed less black hat search engine optimization (BHSEO) activity in 2011 as the search engines have worked hard to block such attacks, as per the reports by Softpedia on August 29, 2011.


BHSEO, also called as search result poisoning, is a term that refers to the methods used to push harmful pages at the top of search results for targeted keywords.

In 2010, BHSEO plays a crucial role in the circulation of forged antivirus programs (scareware) and generally attacked contemporary topics.
