In its 2010 Annual Security Report, anti-malware laboratory PandaLabs reveals that the year has been very interesting so far as cyber-activism, cyber-war and cyber-crime are concerned.
Highlights the report, China, Taiwan and Thailand were the countries encountering the maximum number of infections. Moreover, as per statistics, the Top Twenty countries listed had more than 45% of scanned PCs contaminated, with the rate in Thailand being nearly 70%, in China slightly more than 60% and in Taiwan a little less than 60%. Following them were the countries Latvia and Ukraine both at above 50%. Actually, the foremost 11 nations on the Top Twenty List were all at more than 50% of scanned PCs infected. Moreover, PandaLabs reports that cyber-criminals, during 2010, designed as well as disseminated 33% of the entire volume of prevailing worms, developing 34% of the total malicious software, which had hitherto prevailed and which PandaLabs has classified.
