According to Symantec the security company, one fresh spam outbreak has been detected online that's attempting at attacking users with e-mails laced with malicious software. Reportedly, there's one web-link embedded in the spam messages supposedly providing details, while the same messages try to pull down a .zip file attachment that the more wary end-users would know should be avoided especially when it arrives through an unsolicited electronic mail.

Trusteer the security company states that one fresh malware scam has been detected which aims its attack on LinkedIn members. Reportedly, to begin, the attack initiates a query which appears nearly identical to the usual invite on LinkedIn.

Scam artists who recently (May, 2011) compromised the website of TV network PBS have shifted their focus to Sony's movie division, exposing what seemed to be the e-mail addresses and passwords belonging to around 50,000 people who registered for online advertisements and promotions, as reported by The Register on June 03, 2011.
